Wisps & Their Structures

Each player is granted only a single Wisp, but the Wisp is responsible for erecting your ultimate structures. Each building produced by the Wisp has a powerful area-of-effect channeled spell that can dramatically turn the tides in either offense or defense. Remember that you'll need to build these structures enough in advance that they can accumulate the necessary mana to activate their powers.  Remember that you'll be able to activate them much more often if you build them near a fountain of mana.

Wisps can construct the following buildings:

Obelisk

Gold Cost: 480
Mana: 100 Initial, 500 Maximum, 2/sec
Casts: Starfall
Damage: 20/wave
Range: 1000
Duration: 30 sec
Mana Cost: 200

The ultimate structure in your defense, Obelisks are capable of casting Starfall, dealing significant damage to all sappers in a large area, regardless of their numbers. Starfall makes an excellent panic button when the enemy uses a spell like Cloud or Tranquility, allowing you to deal immediately with a sudden or temporary overwhelming of your defenses. Waves are 1.5 seconds apart.

Moon Well

Gold Cost: 500
Mana: 100 Initial, 500 Maximum, 2/sec
Casts: Tranquility
Healing: 20/sec
Range: 900
Duration: 30 sec
Mana Cost: 200

The ultimate healing structure, Moon Wells can provide tremendous healing to friendly sappers in the area with Tranquility. Tranquility heals sappers faster than Starfall damages them, making the Moon Well an effective counter to the Obelisk, and it requires very concentrated firepower to kill sappers while they're being healed by a Moon Well.

Star Well

Gold Cost: 650
Mana: 100 Initial, 500 Maximum, 2/sec
Casts: Starlight Shield
Range: 800
Duration: 20 sec
Mana Cost: 300

The terror of your opponents' defenses, Star Wells are capable of casting Starlight Shield, which renders nearby friendly sappers completely invulnerable while they remain within range. Capable of completely incapacitating enemy defenses in a large area--even blocking Starfall and Death and Decay--a Star Well makes absolutely sure that the sappers get trhough.

Star Wells have no especially effective counter, so if you see your opponent building one, your best bet is to spread out your defenses into other areas to make sure that he can't neutralize all of your firepower at once. An Ether Source set to reduce mana regeneration can also force your opponent to cast Starlight Shield later and less often.

If your opponent is building multiple of these near your circle of power, you should probably plan to win the game quickly. After all, he's just dumped a huge stash of gold to build them, so it's probably your best chance to punch through his defenses.
